First tip you will use in regards to lighting.Now if the shots you are taking are outdoors during the day, some of the best lighting possible will be the natural sunlight.  Now you are probably thinking, “that’s easy, when you are a San Diego photographer since it is always shiny there”, when in actuality really bright sunlight can cast harsh shadows.Or it could blur the details of faces when the sun is overhead.

Overall, you are going to want to take most of the shots with the sun behind you.  This prevents the harsh shadows that can be caused by the sun.But there will be those times and instances when you want different angles to get those shadows into the shots.

Now that we have tackled the day shots, what if you are taking shots at night? 

The trick to taking night shots is to turn off your flash.Of course if it is absolutely dark with no light you wil need it, but for times when there is some lighting, use the lighting around you, but make sure the shutter speeds are slow enough to let light in.Also, stay steady when you are taking your photograph or you will cause the picture to blur.  Doing these couple of tricks can make a dramatic difference when taking night shots. 

The third and final tip with using lighting to capture great photos is the golden hour.Now there is a time that photographers refer to as the “golden hour” or “magic hour”, and that is during sunrise and sunset.

During these times of the day you will capture great shots that allow you to capture more warmer and inviting colors.You’re going to be able to capture the golden lighting you won’t find during any other part of the day.

There you go.Probably the biggest tip in taking beautiful photos is to make use of the natural lighting around you.  Knowing what techniques to use for different parts of the day, or just scheduling a photo shoots to capture those times of day will help you become an excellent photographer.

Here are a few tips to help you take amazing photographs, using the Canon wide angle lens. These lenses really do well at capturing a wider view in your photos. The subject may be the image’s focus; however, by using this wide angle lens, you can make good use of the background in the picture to add interest. This way the picture will capture a larger story instead of just a photo; for example, in a picture of two children playing on the beach, you may have captured a small fishing boat going past in the background.

With regards to the larger lens, the wide angle lens gives you a stronger depth of field. This is great in that it will not only give you a background and foreground, you also have a better chance of keeping everything focused. On the other hand, if you were using a bigger lens, you would have to have the aperture more closed. This would produce a slower shutter speed, and also the neccessity of a tripod. This would increase the set up time. With all that extra work, the depth of field may not have the strength it would have with the use of a wide angle lens.

The best thing about using Canon wide angle lenses is that if you are taking photo shoots of such things as railroad tracks, a jetty, or anything that may stretch into the distance; the use of a  wide angle lens will really give you realistic photos. They will make a photograph where it feels like you can actually walk along the railroad track. The wide angle lens will give strong lines to the picture.

The wide angle lens also gives  another dimension to a picture giving the illusion that things at different distances are further apart than they actually are. The backround objects can seem much more distant, as opposed to the objects in front, which look smaller.

One very obvious factor in deciding which photographer to choose is price. Most photographers do charge a price for a specific amount of time for the wedding. A century ago, when a woman was pregnant, they referred to it as a confinement. For some reason it was improper to appear so in public that way. That has certainly changed, and for the good. After all, pregnancy and birth are a part of life. Today many ladies and couples even desire to record the special time when junior was still in the womb. Let’s discuss how to make maternity pictures memorable.

First, get the picture at the opportune time. Schedule the appointment with a professional photographer so that the picture is taken about the 30th week. This is best because the belly is protruding and is well rounded.

Second, try some variety. If it is warm weather, try some outside as well as inside shots. Indoor shots are best without a flash. The shadowing highlights the subject, the belly! If indoor lighting is insufficient, then stand by a window or add artificial lighting that accents the subject.

Include the whole family in some shots. After all, older siblings are part of the family. They could all be touching Mom’s abdomen or frame her in the middle of the group. Children like to act up and get attention so, if you hire a photographer, be sure they are good at getting the kids to cooperate, to be serious but not too serious.

If you are going to leave your abdomen covered, wear tight clothing. Get out the tank tops or shirts that fit six months before. These will highlight the changes that have taken place during these thirty weeks. Some woman want their bare belly showing in the picture. This can be done discreetly with proper clothing. Don’t wear something that would make you hide the picture after the birth.

When planning the picture, look two directions. First, look around to make sure that your background is good. If it appears a tree or bush is growing out of someone’s head, that isn’t good. Indoors, make sure a mess isn’t in the background. Either move to a different location or put up a sheet to cover it.

Look ahead means that you want to consider the memory this picture is making for junior. It shows him how large he was in the womb and how difficult it was for Mom to get him out. He might be the one who will cherish this picture the most in years to come.

Most importantly, choose a good photographer wisely. You could take this picture yourself but since it is once in a lifetime for the baby, i.e. to be in the thirtieth week of development, you will probably want a professional to record it. Get someone who is experienced with maternity photography, and have the knowledge and equipment to do it as you want. Ask for recommendations from friends. Consider ratings on the Internet. Make an appointment early to see if you have a rapport with them.  When all is just right, it will be a priceless memory for decades to come.
